Untitled, 2021 a collaborative collage and video storytelling project

I created a series of twelve collages for a young person impacted by sexual violence in collaboration with StoryCenter and the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. The final video, which was edited entirely by the young person I worked with, is included below. When I had my initial call with her, she told me that she wanted to create something that conveyed the following message:

“I have the power, like light overpowering darkness, something hopeful”

I think that we captured that together. It was an incredibly transformative and healing process for me personally to work on these collage pieces.
